The Pull

I am preparing a project for Hilbre Island, a tidal island on the West Coast UK, at the mouth of the Dee Estuary, Wirral. I am thinking about the tide, the waning of menstruation, the (in)visiblity of women, the invisibility of this low lying island, ‘high viz’ bodies, voices of birds - Cormorants…
To pull is to draw – to draw towards, to be inclined. It suggests physical effort, compulsion. There is a tear, a ripping apart, departure.
